Samirah Akhlaq is a visual artist, educator, and art advocate whose work is shaped by a lifelong dedication to creativity and a richly global background. Born in Saudi Arabia and having lived in Pakistan, Guam, Indonesia, and Egypt, she brings a multicultural perspective that deeply informs both her artistic practice and teaching.
A painter since childhood, Samirah gravitated toward realism after relocating to the United States thirteen years ago, drawn to its precision and grounding presence as a means of finding clarity within a complex and ever changing world.
She holds a degree in Graphic Design and a Master’s in Education, and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Art Therapy. Samirah serves as a high school art educator in West Windsor, where she teaches sculpture, ceramics, and foundational art courses, fostering technical skill, critical thinking, and creative confidence in her students.
Samirah lives in Princeton Junction, New Jersey, with her husband and children, and continues to balance her roles as artist, educator, and emerging art therapist.
